Established in 1924, the mission of Provincetown Tennis Club is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals of all ages and skill levels can come together to enjoy the sport of tennis.  The Club is committed to promoting a culture of diversity, equality, and respect both on and off the court.  Through our programs and facilities, the Club provides access to quality tennis instruction, recreational play, and competitive opportunities, while promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and sportsmanship.  The Club strive to be a positive force in the local community by offering tennis programs that engage and enrich the lives of members and non-members alike, while also supporting the broader social and environmental values of the region.  The Club is dedicated to creating a vibrant and supportive setting where the love of tennis can flourish, and where friendships and connections are formed that extend beyond the tennis court.

JENNY BYRNE

Director of Tennis and Head Pro

PTC is honored to have Jenny Byrne join us for a third straight season!   A native of Australia, Jenny has spent many years teaching and managing programs at tennis clubs across the country. She attended Hunter College in New York and had a spectacular professional career reaching world No. 45 in singles and world No. 27 in doubles. She reached the third round of Wimbledon in 1985, the US Open in 1993, the French Open in 1986 and 1988, and the Australian Open in 1993.  PTC is proud to have Jenny on our team!

JIM VENINGER

Assistant Director of Tennis

Jim Veninger will be assisting Jenny for his second season.  Jim is an accomplished tennis player, a former member of PTC, and a repeat winner of the various PTC tennis tournaments!  Jim is available for private lessons throughout the season.

Club Manager

Please welcome our new 2024 Club Manager, Terry Stangel.  Terry brings an impressive background to PTC previously managing a private country club and running a successful graphic design business.  She is a full-time resident of Provincetown and will oversee all operations of PTC.  And look for new PTC branded merchandise for 2024!

OUR COURTS

The Provincetown Tennis Club features five green Har-Tru clay courts and two Omni (synthetic grass) courts. Players are required to brush the lines and remove all rubbish from the courts upon completion of play. Players are responsible for sweeping the courts at 12:45 pm and for the last reservation of the day. Courts are available for reservation by members one week in advance. Guests are limited to four play sessions total during the months of July and August, not including lessons, clinics, and drop-in social doubles events. Members can book courts using Court Reserve. Guests can call the front desk to reserve a court at (508) 487-9574 between 8am and 6pm.

MEMBERSHIPS AND RATES

 Annual Full Membership  $950

Monthly Membership $475

Weekly Membership $150

    Guest Fees  $40/per person (90 minutes)

$25/per person (1-4 pm)

 

Provincetown Tennis Club offers seasonal (mid-May – early October), full-time and part-time memberships as well as hourly rates for non-members. All memberships entitle the member to full use of Club facilities including our friendly historic Clubhouse. Courts are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. All members and guests must sign the Club’s “Use of Premise” form prior to use of the facilities.

 

  • Prime Time: 9:30 am until 12:45 pm seven days a week in July and August and 9:30 am until 12:45 pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays all other months. 

  • Guests are not permitted to play more than 4 times total in prime time in July and August. They may play unlimited in clinics, doubles socials (on Fridays and Sundays), and between 1-4 pm. 

 

Annual and monthly members have seven-day advanced court booking privileges. Weekly members may book courts up to three days in advance and guests may book courts one day in advance. Booking during Prime Time hours, noted above, is open only to members (annual, monthly, weekly) and their guests. Full members may bring guests during prime time. Non-members cannot book courts during Prime Time, but are eligible to book courts during other times up to one day in advance. All players must check in with the front desk before play, no exceptions. Standard booking time is 90 minutes during Prime Time. Prime Time blocks are established by the Tennis Pro and office staff.

 

No twosome or foursome can book back-to-back courts in Prime Time, to ensure that the maximum of full-time members have access to the courts at the most popular times. Play may continue on open, unreserved courts.

 

No coupons or offers from prior seasons will be accepted. (Gift certificates will be honored.)

Full time membership fees can be paid by check, credit card, or bank transfer.

PTC offers a variety of clinics throughout the week customized for both men, women, and mixed, at various skill levels. Members can sign up using Court Reserve.  Guests should call the club up to a week in advance to register.

DROP-IN DOUBLES

Members and guests are invited to participate in our drop-in social doubles events, held each Friday and Sunday from 2 - 4 pm except on club tournament weekends.  Drop-in, play with new people and make new friends!

MINI CAMPS

For 2024 PTC is planning a Spring Tune-Up Camp and End of Season Wrap-Up Camp.  Camps are held over three days, for 3 hours each day.  The Spring Tune-Up camp will be held June 4, 5 and 6th.  Call or email the club for more information.

FAMILY WEEK KIDS TENNIS

Kids Tennis for Family Week at Provincetown Tennis Club!

Is your family ready for a smashing good time? Join us for a fun-filled tennis camp Tuesday, July 30th through Thursday, August 1st from 9:00 am to noon 

This camp is perfect for kids of all ages and skill levels, whether they're just picking up a racket for the first time or looking to refine their game.  No equipment necessary (just sneakers!)

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are available for individuals and small groups, members and non-members alike. Lesson plans are customized to focus on the enhancement of specific tennis techniques, strategy, and mental preparation. Lessons can be booked via Court Reserve or by calling the club.
