Come Out and Play

Provincetown Tennis Club is a not-for-profit social club founded in 1924 to foster a welcoming community for tennis enthusiasts. The money raised through your membership, guest fees, and in operating income is used to maintain our tennis courts, landscaping, and Clubhouse, as well as to invest in improvements to continue to serve our community.

JENNY BYRNE

Director of Tennis and Head Pro

A native of Australia, Jenny returns to PTC for her second season after spending many years teaching and managing programs at tennis clubs across the country. She attended Hunter College in New York and had a spectacular professional career reaching world No. 45 in singles and world No. 27 in doubles. She reached the third round of Wimbledon in 1985, the US Open in 1993, the French Open in 1986 and 1988, and the Australian Open in 1993.

KIM WILSON

Club Manager

2023 is Kim's second year serving as Club Manager. Kim has been an outstanding member of our Club and previously served on the Board of Governors. During her professional career, Kim spent more than 11 years at Olivia Travel, most recently serving as Senior Manager of Travel and Entertainment. She directs the office staff and is committed to providing exceptional customer service to all of our members and guests.

OUR COURTS

The Provincetown Tennis Club features five green Har-Tru clay courts and two Omni (synthetic grass) courts. Players are required to sweep the courts, brush the lines, and remove all rubbish from the courts upon completion of play. Courts are available for reservation by members one week in advance. Guests are limited to four play sessions total during the months of July and August, not including lessons, clinics, and drop-in social doubles events. To reserve a court call the front desk at (508) 487-9574 between 8am and 6pm.

MEMBERSHIPS AND RATES

 Annual Full Membership  $875

Monthly Membership $450

Weekly Membership $135

    Guest Fees  $35/per person (90 minutes)

$20/per person (1-4 pm)

 

Provincetown Tennis Club offers seasonal (mid-May – early October), full-time memberships and an hourly rate for non-members. All memberships entitle the member to full use of Club facilities including our friendly historic Clubhouse. Courts are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. All members and guests must sign the Club’s “Use of Premise” form prior to use of the facilities.

 

  • Prime Time: Friday, Saturday, Sunday mornings from 9:30 am until 12:45pm in July and August and Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. 

  • Guests are not permitted to play more than 4 times total in prime time in July and August. They may play unlimited in clinics, doubles socials (on Fridays and Sundays), and between 1-4pm. 

 

Annual and monthly members have seven-day advanced court booking privileges. Weekly members may book courts up to three days in advance and guests may book courts one day in advance. Booking during Prime Time hours, noted above, is open only to members (annual, monthly, weekly) and their guests. Full members may bring guests during prime time. Non-members cannot book courts during Prime Time, but are eligible to book courts during other times up to one day in advance. All players must check in with the front desk before play, no exceptions. Standard booking time is 90 minutes during Prime Time. Prime Time blocks are established by the Tennis Pro and office staff.

 

No twosome or foursome can book back-to-back courts in Prime Time, to ensure that the maximum of full-time members have access to the courts at the most popular times. Play may continue on open, unreserved courts; individual players may join other subsequent games.

 

No coupons or offers from prior seasons will be accepted. (Gift certificates will be honored.)

Full time membership fees are to be paid in cash or check to reduce credit card processing fees.

PTC offers a variety of clinics throughout the week customized for both men, women, and mixed, at various skill levels. Members can sign up online; guests should call up to a week in advance to register. 

DROP-IN DOUBLES

Members and guests are invited to participate in our drop-in social doubles events, held each Friday and Sunday. Friday social doubles are held from 5-7pm each Friday during July & August, and Sunday "Drop-in" Doubles is held from 1-4 pm every Sunday throughout the season except when courts are needed for Club Tournament matches. Our drop-in social events may be limited due to COVID-19 protocols.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are available for individuals and small groups, members and non-members alike. Lesson plans are customized to focus on the enhancement of specific tennis techniques, strategy, and mental preparation. Call the Club to book lessons.

COMMUNITY PLAY

Residents of Provincetown and Truro are invited to participate in free community play each Wednesday from 2-4pm. Members of the community must abide by the Club's COVID-19 protocols.
