Come Out and Play

Provincetown Tennis Club is a not-for-profit social club founded in 1924 to foster a welcoming community for tennis enthusiasts. The money raised through your membership, guest fees, and in operating income is used to maintain our tennis courts, landscaping, and Clubhouse, as well as to invest in improvements to continue to serve our community.

Director of Tennis and Head Pro

A United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certified professional, Dorothy has more than 20 years of experience teaching in both private and public clubs, coaching all levels and ages of players, organizing adult socials and clinics, and running junior programs. As Director of Tennis, Dorothy will oversee all aspects of tennis operations and programming at the Club, including lessons, clinics, round robins, and tournaments. In her teens, Dorothy was a highly acclaimed tennis player in her native South Africa, where she earned a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) doubles world ranking at the age of 19.

Assistant Pro

Joshua Bookman is a native New Englander and former college tennis player. He trained with Andrew Rueb, the current head tennis coach at Harvard University, and Payum Payman, who is a hitting partner for the WTA. A high school teacher by training, Josh has worked the past couple of years at the Wightman Tennis Center in Weston MA. He is also a published novelist, having written “Close to Elsewhere,” based on his work experiences in France, Italy, and Sweden.

Office Manager

Randy King was born and raised just outside Iowa City, Iowa where he attended the University of Iowa.  He recently retired from a career as a fine wine buyer, fine wine retailer and consultant.  Randy and his husband moved to Provincetown in the spring of 2017, and spent the next three summers here and traveled to other places during the winter months. They decided to make Provincetown their year-round home in 2019 after realizing their fondness for other places did not quite compare to their everlasting love for Provincetown.
